Fujitsu fi-4220c driver puzzle

January 6th, 2011

Today I’ve been dealing with a Windows PC attached to an fi-4220C scanner from Fujitsu.  Multiple problems but the bottom line is that the scanner was not working.  The plus is that there were seemingly unrelated problems that plagued the computer that also got fixed when I fixed the scanner.

At the beginning, troubleshooting all pointed one direction: to the drivers.  So work on fixing the Fujtisu driver is what I did.  Per my normal experience digging into the driver problem has been time consuming — took about an hour.  But eventually got it to work.

Still have a little more testing to do and need to reload a startup program that I disabled and then everything will be to normal.

Hint: has something to do with fi4220u.dll

It was very interesting when I found out what software was conflicting with the fujitsu driver.  I’ll post more later…

Second hint:

Hello, is anyone listening?
